Andrew Lee Mattox Jr.

It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of Andrew Mattox Jr., age 34 of Logan, Ohio. He passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Andrew is a true hero, having saved three friends at the time of the accident as well as helping others with organ and tissue donations. Andrew loved spending time riding horses, mud running dirt bikes and playing games on his PlayStation, but his strongest love was for his two children, Taylor and Gunner. They filled his heart with laughter. Arlo, Andrew’s dog, was also a big part of his family. Andrew was a 2008 graduate of Amanda Clearcreek High School. He is survived by his daughter, Taylor Rose Mattox; son, Gunner William Lee Mattox; mother of his children, Staci Ray Horn Timmons; mother, Tammy Mattox; brother Wesson Morgan; father, Andrew Lee Mattox Sr.; aunt/mother, Angela Foster (Mark Middlemus); uncle/father, Russ (Linda) Foster; cousin/brothers, Russell (Molly) Foster Jr., Ryan (Kendall) Foster, Ralston (Jillian) Foster; aunt, Melissa (Rick) Stoughton; grandmother, Pamela (Edward) Wolgamot; aunts, Tricia (Bill) Abner, Tracy (Rod) Leasure; uncle, Thomas (Sandra) McClain; cousins, Joe (Casey) Stoughton and Jake (Abigail) Stoughton; Summer McClain, Kyle, (Khia) McClain, Winter (Bobby) Copen, Niki (Joshua) Hysell, Walker Leasure, and Weather (Tristan) Moore; Stacy and Ronda Horn; special friend, Shyanna Fritz; Aden Bering and Skylyn Wiley, and numerous other cousins and friends. Andrew is preceded in death by his great-grandfather, James R. Mattox, Sr.; great-grandmothers, Gladys Mattox and Lolita Cordle; grandparents, Charlotte and James R. Mattox, Jr., William "Bill" McNutt; uncle, William “Billy” Mattox, Sr.; and brother/cousin, Russell Edward Foster Jr. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made in Andrew’s honor to the college fund for Taylor and Gunner. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 10:00am at Amanda Christian Church, 32 East High Street, Amanda, Ohio 43102. Pastor Phil Demint officiating.
