Anna Jean Bush

Anna Jean “Shorty” Bush went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2024. After being under Hospice care for 18 months, she died peacefully in her home with family by her side. She was born on October 11, 1933, in Pritchard, West Virginia to Amos and Pearl Hatten. She graduated from Johnstown High School in 1951. She was married for 61 years to the love of her life, Harold Bush. Together they raised their family on their farm in the small town of Johnstown, where friends and family were always welcomed in their home. Anna Jean loved her friends, family, her church family, cornbread, hot dogs and ice cream. She enjoyed singing, doing puzzles, and reading her Bible. To know her was to love her. She knew no stranger. She always had a prayer and a hug for everyone. Above all else, she loved the Lord Jesus Christ. Anna Jean is survived by her children, Terry (Tami), Bev, Cheryl "Boots" (John Cuthbert), Sharon Houser (Chip), Lori, Jerry; six grandchildren, TJ, Jessica Boroff (Brock), Jacob, Ashley Clift (Ethan), Justin (fiancé Caylyn) and Anna Grey Houser; six great grandchildren, Tristan (Dayna), Hailey, Ally Goble, Adam Boroff; Beau and Paisley Clift; siblings, Jack, Bob, Mike and Rusty Hatten, Fannie Looney; many nieces and nephews; and friends who were truly like family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harold, her parents and her sister, Betty Pletcher. The family asks that donations be made in remembrance of Anna Jean, to Mount Carmel Hospice or Miller Memorial Global Methodist Church. In her honor we would ask that everyone commit to spending special time with The Lord Jesus Christ, their family and friends. Her prayer is that everyone comes to know the Lord. Calling hours 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, June 14, 2024, and Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 10:00am to 11:00am. Celebration of life will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, June 15, 2024. All services will be held at Miller Memorial Global Methodist Church, 5241 Miller Church Rd., Johnstown, OH 43031. Pastor Calvin Alexander officiating.
