Bradford Lee Mills

Bradford "Brad" Mills, 65, of Lewis Center, Ohio, passed away on November 22, 2022. He was born on August 19, 1957, to Joseph and Marilyn (Cooperider) Mills. He graduated from Licking County JVS and Northridge HS in 1976. Brad is survived by his wife Lisa (Miracle); his mother; brother, Doug (Carla) Mills; sister-in-law, Netia Mills; sister, Jolene (Steve) Birtcher; daughters, Melissa (Ray) Bickmeyer, Marcy (Dan) Edelman, and Mikaela Mills; and his son Ryan Mills. He leaves behind three grandsons, Nate and Noah Bickmeyer, and Jack Edelman; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Brad was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Craig Mills. Brad was former owner of the Johnstown, Ohio NAPA store where he earned the alias, “NAPA Brad.” He enjoyed serving the community through his service from 1976-1998. Brad later discovered his true passion in woodworking, following in his father’s footsteps. He built several beautiful electric guitars starting with a block of wood. He also enjoyed fixing things. Even in his dying moments his hands were busy. He liked to fix up ugly houses. Kitchens and baths were his favorites, although he could do just about anything when it came to repairs and remodeling. Brad knew no strangers. He struck up conversations and made friends wherever he went. He was admired by most everyone for his kind, friendly demeanor and his big smile. Brad loved people. Brad was also a cat lover. He and Lisa opened up their hearts and home as fosters to hundreds of rescue kittens over the years, seeing them off to forever homes. They have been privileged to be a part of the rescue efforts of Cozy Cat Cottage for the past five years. Brad leaves behind several friendly felines and one cat-loving Chihuahua. Brad loved Jesus. The family is comforted in knowing he is forever in the presence of his Lord and Savior and look forward to the day that they are reunited. A Celebration of Life will be held on December 10, 2022 at Jefferson Golf & Country Club: 7271 Jefferson Meadows Dr., Blacklick, Ohio 43004-9811. Service begins at 10am followed by a time for sharing stories and memories. Casual dress is fine. The family requests that, instead of flowers, donations be sent to Brad’s wife of 44 years, Lisa, as she navigates this new chapter of her life and tackles the sudden, unexpected expenses that follow Brad’s passing.
