Cynthia Ann Cox Anderson

Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Cox Anderson, peacefully passed away in her Columbus, Ohio home on Monday morning, October 20, 2025. She was surrounded by her husband, 3 sons, and her daughter-in-law. She was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in September 2024. Cindy was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania on November 2, 1961, and moved with her family to Dayton, Ohio where she grew up. She attended Stebbins High School, played flute and bassoon, received the Who’s Who American High School Award and was a member of the Drill Team before graduating in 1979. She went parachuting as a graduation gift to herself. She met her future husband in Dayton while both were in the youth group at Good Shepard United Methodist Church back in 1978. Cindy & Larry married in 1983 and had 3 sons - James (Betsy), Kevin, and Stuart. They both shared a love for the outdoors and long slow walks. As Cindy & Larry started a family, she loved being a mom in the entire sense. She looked for fun and creative ways to provide “her boys” a nurturing home to grow and learn in. Simple acts like packing lunches, walking them to school and back, doing homework, teaching them music, talking with them about their day, allowed her to shape them into the wonderful men they have become today. She carried this love into their adult lives too. She wanted to be a part of their everyday lives as much as she could. As her boys started careers and families, Cindy became a special needs aide in a local school for 8 years. She had a special place in her heart for those that needed an extra hand in life. We all have that one person in the family that holds the rest of the family tent up, and she was that person for us. She loved to have her family on vacation with her. Her desire was to have a family vacation each year where everyone could come together as a family and reconnect. She planned beach vacations, a vacation to Alaska, Malibu, Maine, Grand Canyon, Florida, and California to name a few. Those family times together were filled with love, laughter, ice cream, and water ballons. She was a cherished grandmother (Mimi) to Eliana (7), and Callen (6), and Skylar (1). She adored all three as you would expect... hours playing with playdoh, baking cookies & cakes, reading to them, organizing cutting and coloring projects. One of her greatest joys was to have the grandchildren come over to spend the night. Sometimes, this turned into camping in tents in the living room. Her passions for life guided her daily actions. She was welcoming and warm-hearted to everyone she greeted. Friends and neighbors always appreciated her generous smile, and engaging personality. Cindy is survived by her husband, Larry; her sons, James (Betsy), Kevin, and Stuart; grandchildren, Eliana, Callen, and Skylar; her mother, Rae Cox; brother, Steve Cox; and sister, Pam Pruitt. She is preceded in death by her father, Bill Cox. A “Celebration of Life” for Cindy will be held at The Church of the Master United Methodist in Westerville, Ohio on Sunday November 16th, at 2pm.
