Denise Bond

Denise Bond was born November 7, 1960 in Welch, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Ernestine Jackson and Jarvis Bond. Our beloved departed her earthly home September 26, 2023, at the age of 63. Raised in Welch, West Virginia amongst her 6 siblings, Denise who was lovingly called “Neicy” had a youthful personality and infectious smile. She was known for her creativity, playfulness, and witty sense of humor. Being around her you were guaranteed to laugh; she was simply hilarious, a jokester and comedian. She carried a calmness no matter the situation and had a singing voice like no other. In her younger years a few of her family members formed a singing group. Her voice was captivating and she loved to sing. As a teenager she was offered an opportunity to sing professionally, but her mother felt she was too young to travel on the road. Denise welcomed the adventure to relocate from Caples, a small town in West Virginia to the city of Columbus, Ohio, joining Quintin Johnson and born children Quintin, Fairlana, Ramon, and Amber Bond. Making Columbus her permanent place of residence, she later in life joined Craig Robinson and born children Timberly, Tiffany, Benica, and Timothy Bond. She was an exceptional cook and enjoyed sharing those skills with family and friends. She was gifted in interior decorating and sewing. Neicy could make nothing into something, taking a few pieces of fabric, creating a complete outfit. She loved cats, dogs, and Bruce Lee movies. Most importantly she loved her family. Denise is predeceased by parents Ernestine (Willie Dean Sr.) Jackson and Jarvis Bond; daughter Fairlana Bond; and grandson Samauri J. Page. Those who are left to celebrate Denise’s life and legacy and cherish her memory include: sons Quintin Bond, Ramon Bond & Timothy Bond; daughters Amber Bond, Timberly Bond, Tiffany Bond & Benica Bond; brothers Ernest Jamison, Lou Bond & Don Jackson; sisters Debra (James Sr.) Hight & Anita Whitlow; grandchildren Xavier, Keith Bradley, Keshawn, Kembella, Keyon, Tayshawn, Fairlana, Timothy, Emmanuel, Davion, London and Diane; goddaughters Da’Quantay Cross, Briana Roundtree and Nyesha Cross; special friends Jackie, Sherry, Shelly, CiCi & John, as well as Teresa Holobaugh-Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family. A celebration of Denise Bond’s life will be held November 7, 2023. Where we will gather to remember and honor her and all the lives she touched in a profound way.
