M. Mary Searl

M. Mary Searl born May 6,1936 in Port Lavaca, Texas, died November 23, 2019. Mary lived the last year and a half of her life at Continuing Healthcare of Gahanna. Her heart wasn’t there. Her heart and mind were on Sidway Ave. with her family and her beloved dogs. Mary left behind a daughter, Pamela Staten and a son, Stephen (sp. Elizabeth). Her first born daughter, Teresa, preceded her in death but left three grandchildren: daughter Diane, (children: Jerry, Jojo, Tara) Son Jerry, (deceased) and daughter Brittany (sp. Robert) children: Teresa, Emily, Kyshaun, Kiersten, Pazia, Uzziah(deceased) and Ayden. Funeral Service is Monday, December 2, 2019 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in the Memorial building’s Northeast Chapel. The glass doors by the parking lot of the memorial building. Visitation will be from 12:00pm – 2:00pm. With the service beginning at 2:00pm Moms’ life, while not always easy, was full. Visiting places, the Columbus Zoo, Disney World, Texas. She loved to explore the many facets of America. Besides her family and dogs, I think the things she loved most though were the birds. How she loved to see them in her back yard. She would sit on her patio for hours just to watch then interact and eat. She knew what each bird was and what to feed them. There was an albino squirrel that she always paid close attention to and worried if he missed a day or two running across the wires at his usual time. Nature meant a lot to her, so did laughter. When she laughed at a practical joke (even played on her) or one she did on one of us, it was with a full-bodied laugh that came from her toes on up. I can only imagine that it was the same with the weekly ladies night that was so very important to her. Mom was a proud woman, sometimes hard and stubborn, (but then who isn’t). She was a Christian and did her best to follow Gods’ Commandments. I loved and respected her and will miss her very much. She went gentle into that goodnight and is now looking down and watching over her family and friends. We will meet again in heaven Mom. God be with us all.
