Marcia Jo Gimeson

Marcia Jo Gimeson, age 77, of Pickerington, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on August 29, 2022, at Mt Carmel East Hospital. She was born on May 5, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from St Mary's Academy in Englewood, Colorado in 1963, attended Creighton University for two years and received her Bachelor of Science from Franklin University in 1998, and then a Master of Science from Franklin University in 2000. She married Michael Gimeson in 1966. She was a devoted Catholic, wife, mother, and grandmother of many. She will be remembered for all the love she gave to her family. Marcia is survived by her siblings, Patricia Baumgartner, Joseph Kukral, Michelle Kukral. She is also survived by children, Michael, James (Melissa), Lisa (David) Henderson, Paul (Pam), Ami Taranto, and Anne (Kevin) Motley. Marcia had the honor to help raise nephew, Daniel Creamer; grandchildren, Joseph Taranto (Marissa), Michelle Taranto (fiancée Brandon), Matthew Taranto, Christopher, Jonathan Taranto, Thaddeus, Curran, Rachael, Ryan, Anthony Taranto, Maria, Adam, Evan, and Katelynn; great grandchildren, Eli, Aubree, Oaklynn, Kendall; as well as a large extended family. Marcia is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Rita; sister, Linda; husband, Michael Gimeson (after 52 years of marriage); daughter, Sara Jean and grandson, Nicholas Crum. She dedicated her life to others. She loved to bake, sew, and spend time with family and friends. She was always bringing joy and compassion to everyone’s life. She never missed a basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball, football, track /cross country meet, or golf event that was important to her kids or grandkids. Her faith was most important and sharing that faith with the family was always a priority. She would travel miles to attend the First Communions and confirmations for each child. Some notable accomplishments include developing a bread recipe for communion bread for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish that she dedicated every Saturday to baking from 1979 to 1992. The recipe continues today. Marcia successfully operated her independent daycare business from 1982-1993. She served various communities as a substitute educator in local school districts. The positive impact she made with her devotion and compassionate care for children was far reaching beyond her immediate family. May her soul and all the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace. Please join us in services on September 9, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 600 Hill Road North, Pickerington, Ohio 43147. Family will greet visitors at 9:30am, with a Rosary Prayer at 10:00am and a Funeral Mass starting at 10:30am.
