My’Sheka Cindy’Marie Lowe Sunrise: February 20, 1992 Sunset: August 18, 2026 In Loving Memory My’Sheka Cindy’Marie Lowe was a selfless and lovable person. If she cared about you, you knew it. She would put everyone before herself, and we would sometimes get mad at her for it, but that was simply the kind of person she was. She was well-rounded and always willing to compromise and meet people halfway because she genuinely wanted everyone to be happy. She never made everything about herself. She had a habit of putting everyone else first. I hope this sheds even a little light on the amazing woman she was and gives people a glimpse of the beautiful person I was blessed to call my twin. Although My’Sheka didn’t always like someone when she first met them, she had a way of warming up to people over time. Once she let you into her heart, she genuinely cared about you. She always wanted to believe the best in people. Sometimes that kindness and trust made it difficult for her to recognize when someone didn’t have the same intentions toward her, and there were times when she realized it too late. But that was My’Sheka. She chose to see the good in people, even when it wasn’t always returned. Her kindness was one of the most beautiful things about her. One thing I will always remember about her was her favorite saying: “Well, it ain’t me.” She would say that all the time, and it used to make me so mad. Looking back now, I would give anything to hear her say it one more time. She was really great at math, and it was her favorite subject in school. Even though her sight was beginning to get worse, she still faced her anxiety and pushed herself to go out and do things, sometimes simply because she wanted to be there for me, her twin sister. My’Sheka was a big fan of R&B music. She liked Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell, and she could spend hours watching The Simpsons, American Dad!, Family Guy, and Rick and Morty. She watched all kinds of movies, including Disney and Lifetime movies, and had a soft spot for stories based on true events. Paranormal documentaries, crime shows, and anything mysterious could easily catch her attention. One of the shows she watched with our mother was Bones, something all of us could sit down and watch together. We also had Monk as one of our family favorites. My’Sheka grew up watching Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon, with SpongeBob SquarePants being one of her favorites. She had a soft spot for old-school cartoons too, including Dexter’s Laboratory, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, Rugrats, Hey Arnold!, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Chowder, Adventure Time, and The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. She also watched Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends and the old X-Men cartoon. Gambit was her favorite character. She was a huge college football fan and a proud Ohio State Buckeyes fan. She loved the Buckeyes’ scarlet and gray colors. Her other favorite colors were yellow and pink. Her favorite time of the year was coming up, and the holidays brought out her happiest side. She looked forward to everything from Halloween through Easter, with children being a big part of what made those days special to her. Seeing children happy brought her joy, and she would do anything for them. Most of all, she would do anything for her daughter, Samantha Mary Marie Lowe. Her daughter meant the world to her, and being a mother was one of the most important parts of who My’Sheka was. My’Sheka had many goals and dreams for her life. She was working toward getting her diploma because she wanted to continue her education, and she dreamed of becoming a lawyer. My’Sheka was never meant to be marked down as a statistic. She was a whole person with her own personality, passions, sense of humor, and the little things that made her happy. She had her favorite drinks, including alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, chocolate milk, and hot chocolate. Her favorite snacks included hot popcorn, Hot Cheetos, Hot Fries, Twix, Snickers, candy bars with almonds, jumbo salted roasted peanuts, sour whole dill pickles, Sour Patch Kids, Skittles, and Starburst. When it came to food, she had plenty of favorites: macaroni and cheese, tacos, omelets, salad, pizza, and cheeseburgers. Those little things were part of who she was. I want people to remember the amazing woman she was—not a label, not a statistic, but a daughter, a mother, a sister, a twin, a niece, an aunt, a friend, and a beautiful person who touched the lives of the people around her. A Twin Bond Like No Other Being My’Sheka’s twin gave us a connection that was uniquely ours. It was never about one of us caring about the other more than we cared about our other siblings, parents, or family members. It was simply a bond that came with being twins, a connection that is difficult to put into words unless you have experienced it yourself. We shared a lifetime of memories, experiences, laughter, disagreements, dreams, and plans for the future. She was my twin, and I will forever be grateful that I got to experience that bond with her. Our sister Johnna used to call the four of us the Fantastic Four, and we considered ourselves the Fantastic Four too. But My’Sheka and I, being the twins, also considered the four of us the Ninja Turtles. We had our own little Ninja Turtle world, and that’s why we called Michael Michelangelo. My’Sheka was the younger Michelangelo, while Michael was the older Michelangelo. Michelangelo was My’Sheka’s favorite Ninja Turtle. These silly little names became part of our family memories. They may have seemed like small things at the time, but now they are memories I will hold onto forever. We were also very protective of each other when it came to dating and friendships. If My’Sheka met a new guy friend, somehow we were both going to be together because she was coming too. And if I met a new guy friend, she would be like, “Yeah, where we going?” We didn’t always have to say it, but we were usually a package deal. We knew how to give each other that look and somehow ended up going everywhere together. Those are the little memories I will miss the most. Even though I was the older twin, My’Sheka always insisted that I was her baby. She would tell me, “You’re my baby, and there’s nothing you can do about it.” Somehow, being the older twin never stopped her from treating me like I was the younger one. That was just My’Sheka. She had that same special relationship with her nephew Travon. Those two could argue back and forth day after day, but no matter how much they fussed with each other, she would still call him her son. That was how big her heart was. If she cared about you, you were hers. You could never tell My’Sheka anything about our mother without her having something to say. She loved calling our mother “little lady,” which would make our mother so mad. She would get fussed at, and My’Sheka would act like she wasn’t even worried about it. I would be sitting there thinking, “Would you just be quiet?” That was My’Sheka. She could find a way to make even the simplest family moment funny. But underneath all the teasing was a deep devotion to our mother that was impossible to miss. My’Sheka truly adored her. Our mother meant a great deal to her, and whenever something needed to be done or our mother asked for something, My’Sheka wanted to make sure it was taken care of. Our mother was often the first person who came to My’Sheka’s mind when she needed someone, wanted to share something, or simply wanted to make sure she was okay. Their connection was special, and the bond between them was genuine. No matter how much she teased her by calling her “little lady,” everyone who knew My’Sheka knew how deeply she cared about her mother. That was My’Sheka—she could fuss with you, tease you, make you laugh, and still make sure you knew you mattered to her. A Memory of Our Father I cannot talk about our mother without talking about our father because he meant a great deal to My’Sheka too. Our father had his own way of showing his affection, and My’Sheka definitely knew how to give it right back to him. Dad would call My’Sheka “Fat Funk” and “Fatzy Joe McAllister.” She would get angry with him sometimes, but she accepted it because that was Dad. Those nicknames became part of their relationship and are memories of her that I will always carry with me. Dad and My’Sheka would listen to Journey together and play their air guitars. Those moments were part of the bond they shared. Now that they’re both gone, I like to imagine that maybe they’re together again, listening to Journey and playing their air guitars just like they did here on Earth. Maybe they’re up there somewhere, laughing, enjoying the music, and having their own little concert together. My’Sheka had a special connection with our oldest sister, Johnna, as well. They could hang out for hours together, and sometimes I wouldn’t even be there. They got along so well that people who didn’t know us might have thought they were twins and never realized there were three of us. I always thought that was funny, especially because I don’t really like being around a lot of people. Lakisha was My’Sheka’s sister and sister-in-law, and the two of them shared a bond that went beyond being family. They even got matching Ying and Yang tattoos together, a permanent reminder of the connection they shared. She also had a meaningful relationship with each of her brothers, and every bond was different. Carlos was the walking dictionary of the family. He basically knew everything, and if any of us needed to know something, Carlos was probably the person we could go to. He and My’Sheka could talk about spiritual things and life for hours. He was always giving us advice, and My’Sheka was there to give that same support and advice back to him. Tony was special to My’Sheka. He was one of her favorite drinking buddies. Those two could go out, have drinks, get into an argument, and somehow end up going right back out together. That was simply their relationship. No matter what they went through, they always found their way back to each other. Lil John was the goofy one. He could make My’Sheka laugh, and he was one of those people who rarely got upset. He brought a lighter, playful energy to the family. Michael was her Michelangelo. He was the overprotective one, not just with My’Sheka, but with all of us. He looked out for his sisters and made sure we were okay. My’Sheka was the younger Michelangelo, while Michael was the older Michelangelo, and Michelangelo was My’Sheka’s favorite Ninja Turtle. That made the nickname even more meaningful to her. Phil was her baby. You couldn’t say just anything about him around My’Sheka because you better be careful what you said. She was protective of him and always had his back. Phil was the quiet one, but when he needed to step up, he absolutely did. My’Sheka knew that about him and appreciated him for it. My’Sheka liked spending time with family and friends and having her favorite beverages. I liked drinking with her too, and it was something we shared together. She had a close relationship with her favorite cousins, Tasha and Ali. They made many memories together, filled with laughter and good times. You could have a whole room full of people mad at My’Sheka, and she would start laughing. Then her laugh would have everybody else laughing too. Her laugh was so distinctive and contagious that it was almost impossible to stay mad once she started. That was My’Sheka. Even when things weren’t perfect, she could find a way to bring laughter into the room. Every one of her siblings had a different relationship with her, and she had a different way of being there for each of us. That was one of the beautiful things about My’Sheka. She didn’t have to treat everyone the same to make each person feel like they had their own place in her heart. She had just promised me that she was going to start going out more, have fun, and actually live life. That meant a lot to me because those were our plans. We knew we weren’t getting any younger, and we wanted to start going out, experiencing life, and finally living the life we had always talked about. And then it was all snatched away from her. We were supposed to do that together. We were supposed to grow older together, go out together, laugh together, make memories, and finally start living our lives the way we had always talked about. There will never be another My’Sheka Cindy’Marie Lowe. She was my twin, my sister, my other half, and one of the most selfless people I have ever known. I love you, Twin. I will carry you with me for the rest of my life. Left to Cherish Her Memory My’Sheka leaves behind her beloved daughter, Samantha Mary Marie Lowe; her mother, Mary Suzanne Johnson; her aunt and uncle, Windy Davidson and Dana Davidson; her aunt, Cindy L. Lowe; her siblings, Carlos A. Johnson, Antonio M. Johnson, John L. Lowe, Jr., Johnna S. (LaQuisha R.) Lowe, Nysheka V. Lowe, and Phillip L. Lowe; and her grandfather, Donald R. Thomas. She also leaves behind her favorite cousins, Tasha M. Watson and Ali S. Adams; nieces and nephews, My’Keyia R. Lowe, Doesha R. Lowe, Ny’Kayla S. Johnson, My’Kayla S. Johnson, Xiomara Brady, Zynila Lowe, Nyshea S. Lowe, Jo’ziah M. Lowe, Samantha M. Lowe, and Travon N. Lowe. She leaves behind cherished friends who were like siblings to her, including Stephanie A. Bailey, Avery E. Junior, Tashianna Featherstone, Michael Culwell, Cierra L. Ferguson, and Carman L. Roach. Stephanie was one of the first friends we met, and that friendship became an important part of My’Sheka’s life. Avery and Tashianna came next, becoming part of the circle of people who shared memories, laughter, and good times with us. Michael came into our lives later and became another cherished friend who meant a great deal to My’Sheka and me. Cierra L. Ferguson was more than a friend to My’Sheka—she was family and a true sister in her heart. They shared beautiful memories together, from playing Uno and going to school together to listening to music, laughing, talking, and simply being around each other. My’Sheka liked spending time with Cierra and her family. She loved Cierra’s mother’s delicious chicken-fried breast and macaroni and cheese, and those meals became part of the memories she treasured. They also shared memories of spending time at Eagle, the little bar where they used to hang out and have a good time together. There are many more memories that could be shared, but what stands out most is the friendship, laughter, and sisterhood they had. Cierra was someone My’Sheka could be herself around, make memories with, and feel at home with. Their connection was genuine, and Cierra will forever hold a meaningful place in the memories of everyone who knew them. Then there was Carmen. She grew on us and became someone we could truly be ourselves around. We could come to Carmen, talk about anything, listen to music, laugh, and simply be ourselves without feeling like we had to pretend to be anything other than who we were. That kind of friendship was rare, and My’Sheka treasured it. Carmen will always be a part of our family and will forever be considered a sister to both of us. That bond was real, and no matter how much time passes, she will always have a place in our family and in our hearts. Preceded in Death By My’Sheka was preceded in death by her father, John L. Forever Loved, Never Forgotten My’Sheka’s life was filled with family, friendship, laughter, memories, dreams, and moments that will remain with everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
