Ramona Elizabeth Jonapaw

Lord Jesus Christ you willingly gave yourself up to death so that all people might be saved and pass from death into a new life. Listen to our prayers. Look with love upon your people. Lord Jesus Christ you alone are holy and compassionate. Forgive our mother for her sins. By dying you opened the gates of life for those who believe in you. By your glorious power give her light, joy and peace in heaven where you live for ever and ever. AMEN. Ramona Elizabeth Jonapaw passed away on June 25, 2022 in Columbus ,Ohio where her cremation also occurred. Ramona was born on March 15, 1940 in Keshena, Wisconsin to the late Joe Penass and Mary Lucille Jonapaw. Ramona was also a proud member of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin. She was the mother to eleven children, with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She taught all her children so much and enough to keep teaching their own children for decades to come. Ramona loved to travel and enjoyed reminiscing with everyone she got a chance to conversate with. Ramona was a loving person with a great heart, who put others first before herself. She worried about others before herself and gave the best advice, like a very unique friend. There was nobody like her. And never will be. She loved second hand shopping and finding great deals buying more for others than for herself. At one point in life for a living in Puerto Rico she hand made tacos and would sell them at the schools back then for 25 cents. She loved reminiscing with family and friends making them laugh with all her jokes, true stories and experience’s. She would always make new friends and quickly they would become like family. Her kind heart would always win the love and respect from even strangers. She always said she was a witch because she would literally predict anybody’s future or destiny. She predicted her own life- as she always said she would leave this world in peace, with no pain and in her sleep-and that is exactly how she left. She was a great believer of the Lord and Jesus Christ. As a Native American she will fly high like an eagle and rest in peace. Ramona will forever be loved and will forever live in the hearts of her family and friends. With all the beautiful loving memories with Ramona, it helped to prepared her family for her absence here on earth. Cremated remains to be buried in Keshena, Wisconsin.
