Rozella Jean Musgrave

Rozella Jean (Gettys) Musgrave age 84, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio and formerly of Columbus, Ohio passed away Wednesday morning November 20, 2019, at Country View Nursing Home in Sunbury, Ohio. On November 25, 1934, Rozella was born in Norton, Ohio, Delaware County, the daughter of the late John William Gettys and Nellie Frances (Main) Gettys. She graduated from Harding Highschool where she was a majorette. Rozella married Wallace W. Musgrave on November 2, 1952 in Marion, Ohio. They ...shared nearly 55 wonderful years together as husband and wife before he preceded her in death on September 7, 2007. Rozella worked shortly at Riverside Hospital as a Nurse's aide then continued for many years as a volunteer there. She went to be a bus driver for Columbus, Public schools where she retired from. A woman of faith, Rozella served on many committees at University United Methodist church and then McKendree United Methodist Church both in Columbus, Ohio. Rozella sang with the Buckeye Belles for a short time while her husband was a long time member of Singing Buckeyes and Johnny Applessed Chorus with whom Rozella and Wallace traveled to many beautiful countries to sing. Rozella loved camping and went on many outdoor trips camping, hiking and canoeing across the United States and Canada. Some of her most memorable experiences were hiking Philmont Scout Ranch, canoeing in the wilderness in Ontario, Canada where they had to pull off at an island at dusk, with evidence of bear scratchings they had to hang bearbags, put up, a lean-to to sleep under and use mosquito nets because of the huge mosquitoes, Rozella always loved the beautiful countries they traveled to, but especially enjoyed a trip to the Bahamas on a sailboat where they dove for Conch shells for dinner. Rozella is survived by four children Keith Musgrave, Jill (Danny) Dandrea, Ruth (Charlie) McKean, and James (Susan) Musgrave; Twenty One grandchildren: Tabitha, Amy, Samuel, Mandy, Elijah, Mariah, Levi, Andrea, Danielle, Vincent, Christina, Anna, Seth, Megan, Nathan, Katherine, Alyssa, Matthew, Aaron, Jacob, Elizabeth; Many great grandchildren; and a brother Jay Gettys and three sisters; Dianna Click, Beverly (Jack) Wright and Gwen (Effert) Woods In addition to her husband and parents, Rozella was preceded in death by her son Ronald Musgrave and grandson Jason Musgrave; brothers, John Gettys, Joe Gettys, sisters; Naomi Miller and Jane Covert. Rozella’s family will greet friends and family from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at the Vineyard of Johnstown, 10444 Crouse-Willison Rd. Johnstown, Ohio 43031. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tom Tucker officiating.
