Emil Thomas “Cowboy” Hilz age 62 of Marysville, OH passed away on July 27, 2017 at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, OH. Tom was born January 4, 1955 as the last of 4 children to the late Robert G. and Elsa Pitassy Hilz of Toronto, OH. He is preceded in death by brother, James H. Hilz of Toronto, OH; Great Uncle and Aunt, Thomas and Anna Colsh; Cousin, William Costantini of Steubenville; OH; Mother-in-Law, Lillian Riser of Columbus, OH; and Godmother of Daughter, Kendra; Patricia Calvert of Reynoldsburg, OH; His trusted co-worker and friend, Tom Bautz of Mansfield, OH; and many old friends of Toronto, OH. Tom is survived by his Wife, Susan K. Tom was an amazing and talented carpenter well known for his work in Muirfield, Tartan Fields, and other locations throughout the Central Ohio area. He was a funny, kind, giving, and loving person who will be sadly missed in this world. We can all take solace in knowing that in the world he is in now he will be free of pain, and can lay down his arms and rest in peace. Services will be individual and private. A Mass will be said for Tom at St. James the Less 1652 Oakland Park Ave, Columbus, OH on September 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Another Mass will be scheduled in Toronto, Ohio at a later date..
