Jeffrey Allen Riegel
April 1, 1952 - June 1, 2022
Jeffrey Allen Riegel was born on April 1, 1952, to parents Curtis Riegel, and Eleanor Freeland Riegel. He passed away unexpectedly on the morning of June 1, 2022, with his children by his side. He is survived by his brother Ron Riegel. On December 31, 1973, he was married to Jessica Dimel, and spent 44 years with the love of his life, until sadly, Jessica passed in 2018. Jeffrey and Jessica raised two children, Amber Lynn and John Curtis. Amber gave them two beautiful and joyful girls, Hope Elizabeth and Olivia Nicole, and John gave them another beautiful and joyful girl, Emma Marie. John found his forever love, Sara Ketcham Riegel, and Amber found her knight in shining armor, Jeffrey Franklin. Then just when he thought he could not possibly be blessed any more, he met his great-granddaughter, Paris Belle. Jeffrey Riegel was an Army veteran and served in the 684th Medical Corps. He was an active outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and shooting sports. He worked as a maintenance tech for Timken and Honda and will be remembered for his ability to fix just about anything. Jeffrey was an animal lover, with many cherished family pets, and he was known to support Homeless to Home Animal Rescue and Cat Sanctuary in Marion, Ohio, and Wolf Creek Habitat and Rescue in Brookville, Indiana. He enjoyed old monster movies and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was always ready to laugh at a good joke. His starring role came later in life, as he was affectionately known as "Grampy" to his granddaughters and great-granddaughter. Grampy never missed an opportunity to spoil his granddaughters and great-granddaughter. He was much loved, and it was always a treat to spend time with Grampy. He spent his life working to make a better life for his children, his grandchildren and his great-granddaughter. Grampy will be greatly missed. Day Funeral Service is honored to serve the family of Jeffrey Allen Riegel.
