Henry "Coach Bobb" Smith

o Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die... Henry ("Coach BOBB") Smith, sunrise July 5, 1958, sunset October 23, 2020. Coach "Bobb" was born to Howard Smith and Coretha Watkins-Smith in Halifax County, South Boston, Va. Predeceased by father, Howard Smith, Marlboro,N.Y.; mother, Coretha Smith, South Boston, Va.; and brother, Robert Smith, Pleasantville, N.J. Coach "Bobb" was very athletic. He attended Halifax County High School and played basketball, football, and softball. He played for the Columbus Park and Recreation Softball League, and umpired for the Black Amateur Softball Assoc., (BASA). He then became an AAU coach. He was extremely passionate about basketball and loved going to the Ohio State Men’s Basketball games. His favorite NFL team was the Dallas Cowboys (win or lose). He LOVED his AAU teams he coached, he LOVED the AAU coaches, and he LOVED the OSU Men's Basketball Coaching Staff. He is survived by his loving wife, Sherece; daughter Seymone; son Bobbydivore; grandson, Aaron; sister, Janiemae Atkins (Bill) Henderson and Teresa Smith; brother, John (Sayone) Smith, Sam Smith, James Lee ( Norma Jean) Smith, Bobby (Judy) Smith; and a host of nieces/great nieces, nephews/great nephews, friends and relatives. He also leaves behind his extended family, Kevin and Tawanna Martin-The Martin Family Columbus, Oh., Coach Kevin Brown-The Brown Family Columbus, Oh., and James Council-The Council Family Columbus, Oh. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Vineyard Columbus, 6000 Cooper Rd., Westerville, OH 43081. Visitation from 10:00-12:00 with memorial service to follow.
