In Loving Memory of Kamy Kaye Henry Kamy Kaye Henry, a beautiful, strong, and unforgettable soul, passed away on August 14, 2026, at the Convalarium of Dublin in Dublin, Ohio, at the age of 59. She was born on December 7, 1966, in Urbana, Ohio, to the late Joyce Anne Rice and the late Charles B. Henry Jr. Kamy spent most of her life in Middletown, Ohio, before later making Columbus, Ohio, her home. She was full of life and had a natural ability to make the most of it. She loved cooking, music, movies, and having a good time. She was amazing at playing pool, bowling and was talented at nearly everything she did. She was artistic, could draw beautifully, and was incredibly handy. Her grandchildren jokingly called her an “alien” because there was seemingly nothing she couldn’t figure out or put together. She was also a sporty girl who loved her Nike, Adidas, and Reebok clothes and sneakers. She had her own style, her own opinions, and absolutely no interest in pretending to be someone she wasn’t. Above all, Kamy was a caretaker. Taking care of people was how she showed love. She would give you the shirt off her back and often opened her home to family, friends, and even people she barely knew who needed somewhere to go. She loved to cook for people, supported them, gave them a place to stay, and made sure they were cared for. She made room for people when they needed it most, leaving an impact on far more lives than she ever realized. Kamy was outspoken, feisty, strong-willed, and unapologetically real. She never held her tongue and would tell you exactly what she thought, whether you wanted to hear it or not. That honesty was part of her charm. She was simply Kamy—and those who knew her will never forget her for it. She was strong and independent and carried herself with dignity through every season of her life. In the final year of her life, she became increasingly focused on prayer, gospel music, and getting her soul right with the Lord. Though she was never a member of a church, her relationship with God became an important part of her journey. Kamy’s greatest legacy is the people she loved and the lives she touched. She leaves behind not only her family, but countless people who can say that she fed them, helped them, welcomed them, encouraged them, or simply showed up when they needed someone. She is preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Ann Rice Henry Whitaker, and her father, Charles B. Henry Jr. Kamy leaves to cherish her memory her three children, Brittany, Jordan, and Jessica; her nine beloved grandchildren, Niya, Micah, Braxtyn, Kiersten, Bennett, Maverick, Anderson, Carianah, and Gianna; her sister, Kiley Henry; her brothers, Kary Henry and his wife Susan, and Kent Henry and his wife Heidi; her nieces and nephews, including Stephen, Bradley, Zachary, Kayla, Amya, and a host of extended family members, friends, and loved ones. Kamy Kaye Henry was one of a kind. She lived life her own way, loved fiercely, gave generously, and never apologized for being exactly who she was. Although she left this world far too soon, her impact was greater than she may have ever known. The stories of the people she helped, the people she welcomed into her home, the people she fed, protected, encouraged, and loved will continue to tell her story. Her life mattered. Her love mattered. The space she made for other people mattered. Her laughter, strength, spirit, and love will live on through everyone blessed to have known her. Rest peacefully, Mom.
