Roy Eugene Ferguson

Roy Eugene Ferguson, age 83, of Marion, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Woodside Village Care Center in Mount Gilead, Ohio on October 12, 2024. Born on July 19, 1941, Roy lived a life rich with love, adventure, and unwavering dedication to his family and country. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Clayton Ferguson and Mildred Velma Mannasmith Ferguson; his beloved daughter, Robin Sue Ferguson; brothers George A. Ferguson, David R. Ferguson, Rodney Ferguson; sisters Carol S. Albright, and Marjorie Armbruster; and his great-granddaughter, Emma Boldman. Roy is survived by his loving wife, Donna Ferguson; his sons, Robert Christopher Ferguson and partner Sue Wilder, Ronald Lee Ferguson, and Ray V. Ferguson and wife Angie, Jason C. Neagles and wife Heidi Neagles; his brothers, James W. Ferguson, Carl C. Ferguson; his sisters, Marjorie Armbruster and Eva M. Foos; his cherished grandchildren, Kierstan and Clay Rollison, Kaden Neagles, Ashley and Drew Boldman, Anthony Roberts, and Rachel Ferguson; and his great-grandchildren, Brantley, Kinsley, and Grady Rollison, Madison and Cohen Boldman, and Sharlet McClure; and his loyal dog companion "Harley". A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Roy served from May 23, 1966, to December 31, 1988. His service included tours in Vietnam and Korea, where he held the position of Maintenance Technician, CWO2. Roy’s commitment to his country and community was a cornerstone of his life. Roy was a man who cherished time spent with family, creating countless memories. He was passionate about riding his motorcycle, often taking his wife on day trips and outings. His love for old-time country music was best enjoyed on the patio with his grandkids, accompanied by a scoop of ice cream. Known affectionately as the "card police" during family game nights, Roy’s laughter and spirit were central to family gatherings. He was a devoted fan of Ohio State and the Denver Broncos, often watching games surrounded by loved ones. Roy was an active member of the Marion First Church of the Nazarene, where he found community and purpose. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Marion First Church of the Nazarene, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, the Office of Veterans Affairs, or a charity of your choice in Roy's memory.
