Stephanie Lorraine King

Stephanie Lorraine King, our beautiful and beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter, friend, and prayer-warrior, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Monday, May 27, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on February 6, 1962, in Huntington, West Virginia to Morton and Delores King. She lived in Huntington most of her life, lived in Long Beach, California for four years in the 1980’s, and lived in Columbus for the past six years. Stephanie was a true example of what it means to live your life wholeheartedly for God. She was the absolute best mom and grandmother, loved and nurtured with all her might, and prayed the most sincere and detailed prayers for absolutely everyone, not just family and friends. Stephanie had a beautiful voice that was fit for an angel and enjoyed using her God-given instrument to sing and to bless others. She loved spending quality time with family, studying The Bible, writing poetry, watching movies, baking, decorating, exercising, dancing, and anything that involved nature, family, and being active. She has literally given the shirt off her back and the shoes off her feet for people in need. If it was remotely in her power, she was going to go out of her way to meet a need - for anyone. In addition to faithfully tithing at church, she also donated to the St. Jude Foundation and local food banks for many years, as they were close to her heart. Stephanie is survived by her two daughters, Brittany Mbao (Jones) and Jasmine Jones; granddaughters, Arianna Nicole and Noelle Everly. Sisters, Rene Parnell and Rolanda King-Johnson; brother, Vincent King; cousins, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and in-laws that she loved and cherished with all her heart. She is preceded in death by her parents, oldest nephew, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. While we are heartbroken and trying to make sense of this enormous loss, we know that Stephanie is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, and is rejoicing and praying for all of us left behind. Per her wishes, there will be no service or memorial and she requested cremation. In the event of her transition, she asked that we cherish all the wonderful memories, serve God, pray without ceasing, and be good to others. Words cannot describe how much we miss her already. We are forever changed for the better because we were blessed enough to be in her presence.
