Thomas Nicholas Hines Sr.

Thomas Nicholas “Nick” Hines Sr. passed away unexpectedly on August 17, 2022 in Reynoldsburg, OH. Nick was born on January 7th, 1957 in Sharon, PA, to Thomas and Ann Marie Hines. His biggest accomplishments in life were his three beautiful children; Thomas Jr., Shannon, and Kristen. Thanks to them he was able to enjoy one of his favorite jobs in life, being a grandfather, which he did very well. Anyone who met Nick was greeted with his larger than life personality and his natural comedic relief. Everyone who knew him would agree he was the life of the party the minute he walked in the room. He truly never met a stranger in his lifetime and he was sure to make a friend of anyone who gave him a moment of their time. During his life Nick was a very hard working auto body mechanic and business owner for over 40 years who took great pride in his work. He was well known in the collision repair industry of central Ohio as “Coal Miner” and “Slick Nick”, which I imagine had a funny story attached to it. His love for cars and living life in the fast lane showed in many ways throughout his life, especially when it came to NASCAR. He shared this love for NASCAR with his closest friends and family and was able to attend dozens of races over his lifetime bringing back some of the best stories to remember them by. Nick wasn’t known to be a man of routine, unless that involved his soaps Monday-Friday. He loved following the lives of the Young and Restless or Bold and Beautiful cast and everyone knew this was the time of day he just couldn’t be bothered. Over everything Nick was a proud family man and a loyal friend. He loved his wife, kids, grandchildren and friends dearly and made sure that they were all left with countless memories and plenty of laughs. Nick is survived by his wife Theresa Hines; his children, Thomas Nicholas “Nick” Hines Jr, Shannon Paige, and Kristen Hines; his sister Lynn Kenyon; his six beautiful grandchildren, Thomas Nicholas Hines III, Michael J. Killiea, Cameron M. Hines, Jase T. Haynes, Victor K. Hudgins, and Kristina L. Richcreek; his numerous nieces and nephews; his sister-in-law Susan Hines; and his longtime best friend/Brother-in-law John Dillin. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Thomas and Ann Marie Hines, and his siblings, John Hines, Tim Hines, and Kyra Keifer. The family would like to send their love and appreciation to everyone that has reached out to the family in regards to the passing of Nick. This loss has truly shaken the whole family and will take time to work through. It has brought great comfort to hear all of the memories and the impression their Father/Husband/Grandfather has left on this world.
