Rick Day, Licensed Funeral Director
Rick Day is a licensed funeral director and custom stone cutter. He is a 1967 graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He is the Founder of R.A.R. Monument Company, The Pine Box Agency, Day Funeral Service as well as owner/operator of Memory Lane Cremation Service and Oak Leaf Management, a cemetery management company. Rick’s goal is “to change the public perception of the funeral industry by helping families realize their options and save thousands of dollars on funeral and cremation costs while maintaining quality and empathy for loved ones.” Rick grew up in “Trenton Township” Sunbury and currently lives near Westerville, Ohio.

Richard Day Jr., Advanced Funeral Planner
Richard spent 20 years in outside corporate sales jobs traveling the Eastern and Mid-West areas of the country before joining the Funeral Service. His business experiences led to residences in Ohio, Florida, Mississippi, and back to Ohio again. He is a licensed funeral planner and owner of RAR Monument LLC. His prior business and sales experience helps him to understand the needs of our clients and work to find the right solutions for them. He was born and raised in Sunbury and resides there today. Richard enjoys helping families realize the different options available to them in their time of need and helping them to save hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars in funeral expenses while maintaining top quality funeral and cremation services.

Rae Ann Anderson, Licensed Funeral Director
Rae Ann Anderson joined Day Funeral Service after a twelve-year career in investigations with the State of Ohio and the Franklin County Juvenile Court. She was raised in Gahanna, Ohio and attended The Ohio State University where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in criminology with minors in sociology and communication. She has a master’s degree in criminal justice from Boston University. Rae Ann is a licensed funeral director and holds an insurance license as well. She is a notary, ordained minister, wedding coordinator and florist. She can marry you and bury you. Rae Ann lives in Columbus with her husband, Jim and boston terrier puppy, Emmett Tater Tot. Her passion is to help people and families in their time of need.

Nicole Leonard, Administrative Assistant
Nicole joined Day Funeral Service in February 2024 after working in retail for five years as an assistant manager. She was raised in Gahanna, Ohio and is working towards her bachelor’s in social work from The Ohio State University. She lives in Columbus, Ohio with her two cats, Oscar and Willow. After losing her own father at a young age, Nicole has a passion for helping people and aspires to become a licensed funeral director in the future.

Fred Schenk, Licensed Funeral Director & Certified Pre-planning Consultant
Fred Schenk is and has been a Licensed Funeral Director since 1992. He specializes in Advanced Funeral Planning, and has aided more than 12,000 clients achieve "peace of mind' over his professional career with their "final wishes".
Born in Lima, OH, and has been a central Ohio resident for 33 years. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor degree in Education. He "educates" his clients on a process they may have never attempted before rather than trying to "sell" them goods and services. His has two adult daughters and has been married for 34 years. He and his wife reside in Delaware County where they have raised livestock, and enjoy everyday with their big "puppies".
